Welcome to the 2022/2023 season of dance!
June brought our first in-person and on-stage recital since 2019 -- as usual the post dancing cake was a big hit! July brought a dance out at a seniors' centre. Thanks to Erica, Quinlan, Laura, and Rose for sharing their talents with the residents on a Stampede Saturday afternoon. July also brought news that Erica successfully passed her Associate exam! A big congratulations to Erica on that milestone! Labour Day weekend had Paige, Erica, Ella, Sydney, Lauren, and Quinlan dancing at the various highland games. Later in September will bring the SDTA Scholarship event and another dance out for our dancers. Interested in trying a fun, powerful, and precise form of dance? You don't need to be Scottish to try it out -- just not adverse to the sound of bagpipes! Classes are just starting up for the season, but we accept registrations throughout the year. Come try out the unique artistry of highland dancing! Our classes focus on fun and developing the skills required to perform. Centrally located we serve the inner city communities, the northern hills communities, the north east communities including those outside of Calgary, and the north and south communities with easy access to Deerfoot Trail. Regular classes will begin on Tuesday, September 10, 2019 and Wednesday, September 11, 2019. We will be in the Birch Studio again (the one in the corner).
This is a reminder that there is a class this Wednesday, August 28 from 6:15-7:30 in the Elm Studio. Everyone is welcome to attend whether they are doing the games or not.

We had a few dancers compete last weekend at the CHDA closed competition in Calgary. Upcoming competitions are Red Deer on Feb 9, the ScotDance Alberta Open Feb 24, and the CHDA Chinook Open March 17. If you have not competed before and are interested please speak to Ms Kaaren as soon as possible!
There will be a trial class on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 from 5:30-6:00 pm for new students and then a preparation class for existing students entered in the upcoming highland games from 6:00-7:30 pm. We will be in the Birch Studio which is the one hidden in the corner of the main floor. Regular classes start up on September 11 and 12, 2018.
