Kaaren Murray , BAH, CHIM, SDTA (Member Highland, Member Scottish National), Professional Member of ScotDance Alberta. Kaaren started highland dancing at age 4 after seeing dancers perform on TV and being mesmerized. She had a successful competitive career, taking a break for university. She works hard to ensure all dancers have an opportunity to experience all aspects of highland dance. Her goal is to instill a lifelong desire to dance and reinforces this to her students by continuing to compete and perform on a regular basis. Besides highland, Kaaren has trained in ballet, jazz, and tap. Instructors: Melody Greenwoord, SDTA (Member Highland). Professional Member of ScotDance Alberta. Melody began her Highland dance career at age 8, following in the footsteps of her Grandmother and Aunt. She competed successfully in and around Calgary. In 2011 she traveled to Scotland to visit and compete where it all began! It was a dream come true! In 2014, she joined the dance corps of the Calgary Police Service Pipe Band. She performs with the Band at various events, such as the Calgary Stampede parade. She has been privileged to travel to Ireland twice to perform with them. She feels absolutely privileged to be able to share and pass on her passion for Highland dance to all her students, including her twin daughters. She currently teaches from her small home studio in NW Calgary and is excited to see what comes next! Erica Lohmann, SDTA (Associate Highland), Professional Member of ScotDance Alberta Erica began dancing with Wild Rose Highland at age 9 after sampling ballet. She has had a successful competitive career and continues to compete as she completes her university education. Erica is known for joyful and bouncy dancing and amazing organizational and leadership skills.. She has taken on the role of Chief Set List Designer for the studio, creating color coded schedules for recitals and dance outs. She is excelling at teaching and mentoring our students to be successful and happy dancers as well as creating and fine tuning numerous choreographies.
